Crossing the northern bank of Olt, on a curving road that takes you out of Făgăraş Municipality, in a few kilometers up the river, you can reach Șona. The village belongs to Mândra commune and is one of the tabs in the story of the Colinele Transilvaniei ecotourism destination.

I stopped here for a day to learn how a community in demographic decline stubbornly survives time and modernity, trying to keep alive the built cultural heritage, space to support life, creativity and human encounters.
